Can you believe infants made these pies?! Okay, maybe they aren’t edible, but they sure are cute! Here’s how to make cherry and pumpkin pie with just a few materials! Fun for all ages.
Lattice Cherry Pie
Materials Needed:
- Paint or red tissue paper
- Gallon Ziplock bag (if using paint)
- Paper plate
- Brown construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cotton balls
To Make:
If using tissue paper:
Cut a red piece of tissue paper into smaller squares (about 2 inches by 2 inches). Take the paper plate and spread a thin layer of glue all over it. Layer the tissue paper squares onto the glue until the plate is completely covered in red. Cut the brown construction paper into 1 inch wide strips and glue them in a grid pattern on top of the red tissue paper to make a lattice pie crust!, Lastly, glue 3 cotton balls near the center for whipped cream topping.
If using paint + Ziplock bag (recommended for infants and young toddlers):
Place a paper plate inside a gallon Ziplock bag. Put some dollops of red paint all over the plate. Let the baby squish and spread the paint until the plate is covered. Cut the brown construction paper into 1 inch wide strips. Once red paint is dry, glue the strips in a grid pattern on top of the red paint to make a lattice pie crust!, Lastly, glue 3 cotton balls near the center for whipped cream topping.
